Introduction to Team N° 02 :
Overall Objectives :
The international growth of communications, both in volume and diversity (physical movement, financial transactions, access to services, etc.), necessitates ensuring individual identity. The importance of these issues motivates fraudsters to undermine existing security systems. Protecting against fraud and identity theft is the primary goal of companies that face risks of confidential data loss. It becomes necessary to employ effective security measures through biometrics.
Biometric systems are increasingly used to verify or determine an individual’s identity. These systems offer a fundamental advantage over traditional authentication systems, as the relationship between the authenticator and the individual cannot be closer. Given the stakes associated with their use, particularly for applications in e-commerce and physical access control (border control), it is important to improve existing systems and propose new systems to meet these challenges.
The objective of the research conducted by the ‘Biometrics and Remote Monitoring (BT)’ team is to propose identification and tracking systems for individuals or to improve existing systems for various applications such as: physical and behavioral characteristic-based person recognition, remote monitoring and re-identification of individuals, facial expression and emotion recognition, and biometric data protection.
Scientific Foundations :
The field of biometrics and remote monitoring encompasses several areas of focus, with the main themes of our Biometrics and Remote Monitoring team being as follows:
.Identification and verification of individual identities.
·Remote monitoring.
·Detection of spoofing attacks.
·Deep learning applied to biometrics.
·Evaluation of biometric systems.
·Protection of biometric data.
